Diabetic foot checks at home

A calm, thorough foot-health review for people living with diabetes — carried out in the comfort of your own home, with clear, practical advice.

What we check

Skin

Colour, dryness, cracks, blisters and any pressure marks.

Nails

Length, thickness, ingrowing edges and treatment as needed.

Sensation

A gentle screening of how well you can feel your feet.

Circulation

A basic check of foot pulses and skin temperature.

Footwear

A look at the shoes and slippers you wear most often.

Comfort & advice

Clear, practical guidance — what's normal, what to watch and when to seek help.

Who it's suitable for

Adults living with type 1 or type 2 diabetes who want a thorough, unhurried home foot review — particularly if getting out is difficult, or you'd simply prefer to be seen in your own home.

What this appointment does — and does not — replace

This is a private foot-health review. It complements your NHS annual diabetic foot screening and any care you receive from your GP, diabetes team or NHS podiatry service. It does not replace urgent NHS or GP-led care for active foot problems.

Routine diabetic foot checks can support monitoring and advice, but they do not replace urgent medical care where symptoms need prompt attention.

When to seek urgent help

If you have a new wound, spreading redness, swelling, discharge, fever, severe pain, blackened skin, or a hot swollen foot, please seek urgent medical advice. You are still welcome to contact us for guidance, but some symptoms may need urgent NHS or GP-led care.
